Believe In Me

I am Leon, Leon Bean. I am a doctor in one hospital in Manchester. In my office, the doctors and nurses treat me very well. I love working there.
One day, I was working on a thesis about brain cancer, a nurse came to me and said,
“Doctor, there is a patient recommended from a hospital in Rushgreen. She suffers from brain cancer.” I got into the room to diagnose the patient.

As I entered the room I was so shocked to see her.  That patient was so beautiful, but I found nothing in her eyes. She was accompanied by her mother. I diagnosed her soon after I got into there.
“What’s her name?” I asked. “Jeane, Jeane Misttree”, said her mother. “Why does she look like that? What happened?” I continued to ask.
“The cancer let her down. It was so unpredictable. She is a good girl. She got stadium 2. The people in Rushgreen said they didn’t have the facilities to make a surgery. That’s why she was recommended to go there. ” Her mother cried.
“We will try our best” I said. “Really doctor?” Asked her mother.
“Actually, the percentage of the success was 50%, ” I exhaled heavily. ”But, if she is so like this, the probability decreases by 15%”
“We will do the surgery next month. Before the day, I will try to change her mood so the result might be better.” I continued.
“Thank you so much, doctor! Thank you!” said her mother.
In the following day, after checking up the other patient, I got into Jeane room. She was the same as the previous day, pale and empty. “Hi. Hi. Hello?” I kept trying, but she didn’t even moor her fingers. I gave up. Then, Jeane’s mother came.
“Hello, doctor!” she greeted me. “Hello, Mrs. Misttree” I replied
            “How’s Jeane, doctor?”
            “Not yet.” Said me.
“Sorry, I gonna go. I have to check the other patients.” I leave the room.
“Yeah, thank you, dr. Bean” said Mrs. Misttree.
The next day, I tried the same thing, but no progress. Days passed, every day I greeted her, but there was no answer. Untill the 10th day, She finally responded me. The first word she said “Thank you, doctor”. Since that day, she began to get better mood. In the 14th day, she laughed. It was relieved to see her progress. I was to thinking to confess my felling towards Jeane.
In the 20th, I have planned to confess to her. As I reached Jeane’s room, she was looking outside the window. She is so beautiful with the sunlight lighted her face. I came to her. “Hi, Jeane!”
“Hi, doctor Leon,” she replied. “I was waiting for you to come.”
“Really?” I sit on the bed.
“You will be on the surgery room 10th days later. You have to keep spirit till the day comes.” I began to talk.
            “I hope so.” She said.
“I….I….” I was so nervous. ”One thing I have to say. I like you since the first time I saw you. After the surgery, would you be my girlfriend?” She laughed.
“That’s not funny, doctor!” she said.
“Seriously. ” I convinced her. She was blushing.
“Doctor. There are many patients that have been checked. Just continued your work.” She said.
There was no change in Jeane during the day after my confession. In one moment, I found her blushing when we are in the room.
In the 27th day, when I was in Jeane’s room, a nurse came and called me to go out of there. I left Jeane. Unpredictably, the nurse suddenly grabbed my hand and said, “I love you, doctor.”
I rejected her, but Jeane already saw us grabbing hands. It was a misunderstanding.
The next day, I came to Jeane’s room. She looked angry. Even she didn’t talk to me. I felt so guilty. I thought if this continued, she probably failed to be saved. Suddenly I got an idea. I asked the nurse who was with me yesterday to talk to Jeane that all she had seen was a misunderstanding. I took a long time of arguing, but finally she agreed.
In the 29th day, I came a little bit late. I asked the nurse to come to Jeane’s room and speak up the truth. Then I came to Jeane’s room, bringing a guitar and started to sing “Too many heart have been broken. Failing to trust what they feel. But trust isn’t something that spoken. And love never wrong when it’s real. If I could only do one thing. That I would try to write and sing. A song that end your questioning. And make you believe in me. And make you believe in me.” Those the lyrics. Jeane smiled. It relieved me.
That was the day of Jeane’s surgery. I did the surgery so carefully. The surgery lasted 10 hours. The surgery was successful.
She woke up 4 hour after the surgery finished. We were in silent for minutes. She asked,
            “Does the surgery succeed?”
“Yes, It does.” I replied. Jeane began to cry
“Thank you, doctor.” I was so happy “Your welcome”
“So… Would you be my girlfriend?” I asked he once more.
“Yes, I do” She replied. She hugged me tight.

Song : Believe In Me (Dan Fogelberg)

If I could ever say it right
And reach you hostage heart despite
The doubts you harbor then you might
Come to believe in me

The life I lead is not the kind
That gives a woman pieces of mind
I only hope someday you'll find
Come to believe in me

Those other loves that came before
Mean nothing to me anymore
But you can never be quite sure
And will not believe in me

Too many heart have been broken
Failing to trust what they feel
But trust isn't something that's spoken
And love's never wrong, when it's real

If I could only do one thing
Then I would try to write and sing
A song that ends your questioning
And makes believe in me

And makes you believe i me
Oh, you can believe in me
